I bought the simple plain cheap pack of magnetic letters similar to these
Then it's as simple as laying all of the letters out on a flat surface and giving them 2-3 thin coats of paint.
1st coat...
2nd coat...
My one tip is after you let the first coat dry, make sure to spray from every angle on the second coat. Since the letters are small there are lots of little crevices to get the paint into. As you can probably tell I painted ours on the driveway so I let them hang out for about an hour to dry and then moved them to the picnic table under the awning to dry over night. I wanted to make sure there wasn't ANY wet paint before we let little fingers get to them.
Once they are dry, stick them up on the refrigerator and get to spelling! As you can tell, Bailey loves them already!
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
