Farmhouse Breakfast Area Inspiration

A breakfast nook was one of the priorities on my wish list when we started looking to buy a house.  I have just always dreamed of having our family sit down to eat breakfast together before we all start our busy day.  While that doesn't actually happen now because a) it's not ready and b) our schedules are so different, I do have hopes it will be part of our family routine one day.

For now, as I keep trucking along getting that room ready, I want to share some of my inspirations for this small but inviting area of our home.  Enjoy!

These are very similar to the chairs we inherited with out house and we are seating them at an antique table.  I also love the hanging display rack.

I love the built in bench against the black framed window with the single hanging pendant.

I have always loved the look of black and white checkered curtains for a breakfast nook in a farmhouse.  It's a classic spin on the red and black checkered print seen in winter.

I love everything about this space, and the whole house in this blog actually!  I really love the way she has gathered the necessities (with some fresh flowers of course) on a tray on the table.

As I was painting the back wall of the wet bar in chalkboard paint, I decided to paint a smaller unframed chalkboard like this one on a large blank wall in the breakfast nook.
