French Provincial Style Half Bath

I wanted to give you guys a little tour of a room that is pretty much finished for and didn't really need much TLC since we bought it.  I'm talking about our tiny little half bath downstairs.  The previous homeowner had replaced the toilet (although the seat is broken and they didn't totally secure it to the floor so that has to be fixed) and replaced the vanity and mirror.  We can tell they replaced the vanity because if you look in a few pictures down (I'll point it out), you'll notice that you can see where the tile ends and the subfloor starts...ie where the old vanity was sitting on the floor.  The new vanity looks slightly lifted off the floor so you can see the subfloor.  While this isn't a huge deal, it's definitely an eye sore to look at.  Anywho, here we go...

This is coming into the room.  They also replaced most of the downstairs doors and the hall closet door upstairs, however they must not have measured well because most of them stick horribly.  This frame has already been shaved down in random spots but it needs to be flattened and shaved a little more at the top.

View from the other side of the door way.

A closer look at what's above the toilet.  The "Bonjour" sign I got last year in the 80% off section at Hobby Lobby, the metal wall baskets are also from Hobby Lobby (and used to hold fruit in the kitchen), and the "TISSUES" box is from Kirkland's when the store in my hometown was shutting down to move.  The top basket holds extra hand towels and the bottom one is typically holding 3-4 rolls of paper towels.

Another angle from the doorway.  The two canvas prints and toilet paper holder are also from, you guessed it, Hobby Lobby!

The towel ring is from Hobby Lobby (see a trend yet) and the mirror was an update that the previous homeowners installed.

Look at where the vanity meets the floor.  That's where you'll notice where the tile stops.  I do really like this vanity though and I'm thinking about just painting the subfloor black so it will hopefully not be as noticeable.
Oh, and the rug is Thomas O'Brien from Target and I love it!  (I couldn't find a link online...sad day.)  It doesn't have a rubber backing so it's easy to wash and air dries quickly...plus it's super soft even after washing!

Well that's our half bath!  I hope you enjoyed this quick room tour, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
