Laundry Room Part 2: The Plan + Mood Board!

As you may remember from THIS post, the only thing done in our laundry room is the paint.  Years ago I fell in love with a yellow laundry room I had seen in one of my Meme's home decorating magazines {I'd be willing to bet Southern Living} and I have not stopped wanting one since then.  So when we bought our home, I knew that's exactly what I was going to do.

This pin is the ideal color scheme for this room:

I love the mix of the the bright yellow and calming turquoise.  Just the right amount of color for a small (and what could be daunting) laundry room.

Here's the final picture from the painting post in case you don't remember the chaos of that room:
That cluttered shelf seriously makes me sad...

Well I have finally decided on the plan for this room.  The hold up was picking the cabinetry set up.  I don't want to spend a lot of time or money in here since it is just the laundry room, but I do want it to not feel so chaotic and cramped with the open (and drooping) shelf.  I talked with our carpenter (aka Dad) and got his opinion also.

We have decided to go with a white single door cabinet like this one from Lowe's with a small closet rod going from the top of the cabinet to the wall.  However, we won't be getting this exact cabinet.  I want a glass front door since I will be putting all of our laundry and cleaning supplies in pretty containers.
PS I'll be doing an updated cleaning supplies and laundry organization post after this so keep on the look out!
Here's a picture to get a feel of what I'm talking about:

Even though we have a laundry room, the ceiling is low so we can't have a tall cabinet or shelves above.  But we had to have some kind of bar to hang dry clothes...those plastic shelves hanging from the wire shelf just aren't going to cut it...

Now that you've seen the plan for the general layout, here's my overall image for our laundry room!
