DIY Barbie House Update

I posted on Instagram about a month ago that Bailey had an addition to her Barbie house thanks to my friend Leslie.  Leslie gave us a wooden dollhouse shaped bookcase that was luckily already white and pink so it was just screaming to belong to Barbie.  We also decided to go ahead and move her Barbie house upstairs to her room because we were constantly having to worry about sneaking little 4 legged friends stealing her Barbie stuff out of her playroom.  This also gives her something to do when we are all upstairs and gave a lot more space in the playroom.

Since we added the bookcase, we went from the 3x3 cubby shelf to the 2x3 shelf.  It fits perfectly beside the house and under her already hung Disney princesses.

So far here is the breakdown of what I have done:

• Painted the roof and window trim on house to hot pink (to match Bailey's room)
• Used the backdrop from the Barbie house sets in the Dressing room and Laundry room 
• Purchased these new Barbie house sets: Dining Room, Vanity, Laundry, Microwave, Pool, Bicycle, Chelsea Clubhouse, Chelsea Swing Set
• Added green felt to playground area and picnic area, pink/white felt in vanity area, and white glitter felt in the bathroom (however these will be replaced by larger squares because as you can tell right now they're too small)
• Added green foam under Chelsea's clubhouse
• And organized what she has...

Here is what I have left to do:

• Replace the 8x10 felt sheets with larger pieces
• Add more flooring to rest of rooms
• Purchase Barbie Bedroom Set, Bathroom Set, and a Living Room Set (she has a few other sets in the Christmas closet already)
• Add "wallpaper" to some of the rooms (I feel like this is going to be an easier change in case she wants to rearrange in the future)
• Create/Find some Barbie sized bins, baskets, shelves to organize some of the other things like the sporting equipment, nursery stuff, and closet

Of course, Bailey is still very young so this will all come as presents as she gets older, but just so you know the plan :)
