This has sadly been one of the most quickest yet procrastinated projects to date. I'm talking about how I organized Bailey's art supplies!
For Bailey's 3rd birthday, we threw her an Art themed party so naturally one of her presents was an art easel. Of course if you have an easel, you need the art supplies to go with it. So she got tons of it from everyone! While it's nice that she has so much it was really hard for me to figure out a way to organize it all in a way that was accessible to her while being functionally organized and pretty. I scoured Pinterest for ideas, but couldn't find anything that would be simple enough to put together (I'm still working on all the wood working stuff) or wasn't something I'd have to go store to store hunting down. And what we had wasn't working...
This was wrong for her for multiple reasons: a) she couldn't get opened and closed easily, b) it was all just thrown in there with things she could and couldn't use without supervision, c) it didn't look good at all in her play room.
As she and I were at Target a few days ago, we headed down to the summer aisles to check out any possible clearance stuff and found this! It's technically a metal utensil/condiment holder, but it's found a new purpose for me. They had a navy and white which was perfect for us, but they also had a few other colors.
While to some it may just be a utensil/condiment holder, to me it was the perfect solution to her art supplies! And low and behold right next to it were these clearish-white plastic cups that fit perfectly into the slots to hold any miscellaneous items (or items that needed to be removed when she was creating masterpieces on her own).
For this set up, I just put all her art supplies on the floor, got rid of all the old cardboard boxes, and started putting things in the holder to figure out the best fit for what she has.
Step 1
Step 2
I'm sooo happy with how it turned out! You could even create a little label for the sides if you wanted to!
And as you can tell, she is already loving it!
I hope you enjoyed this organizational adventure, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
