Guest Room Update!

I just wanted to post a quick little guest room update.  If you haven't seen the initial two posts where we painted the walls navy and where I showed some of my inspiration photos, check those out here and here!  For anyone who has stayed the night at our house (or previous rental) knows that to sleep you had two main options...either the double stacked air mattress or the twin daybed in the play room.  We have not, until now, had a real bed in our guest room.  But this weekend we finally found the perfect full size bed and purchased a mattress for a steal of a deal from a local mattress company in League City.
I have been looking religiously on Craiglist for a full size wood bed for at least 6 months.  I knew that I wanted a worn, antiqued dark wood that would compliment the white and gold accents against the dark navy walls.  Almost a little nautical without all the nautical themed pieces...just the colors.  I finally found it and it was a score for $80!  As you can see its got a head and foot board and the two side rails.  I will probably need to have some small boards cut to run horizontally under the box springs just to provide some extra support.  Overall though I am so happy with how it looks and can't wait to get the mattress delivered tomorrow so I can finally get the room put together!

Here's the bed and a better picture of the navy walls!
This is an unedited photo with only the two windows in this room open at about 2 pm...hence the darkness above the bed.  I wanted to give a clear picture of the beauty in the navy walls.
Here's the mood board design!  The plan is to have dark wood furniture, white linens (curtains, bedding, and slip-covered rocking chair), and gold and mercury glass accents.

I hope you enjoyed this little update, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
