Bailey's Closet Tour

You have now seen her full room tour HERE and her dress-up cabinet tour HERE so now it's time to check out her closet!  I'm really quite excited with how cute and functional her closet has turned out.  Plus I did all of this without spending much money at all, as in the only thing I had to purchase extra were the baskets on the upper shelf!  Ok, let's get started!

I love the having the dresser in the closet.  It seriously makes everything from doing laundry to picking out clothes so much easier!   All of her shoes hang in an over-the-door shoe holder like this one HERE.  This is the easiest and most functional way I have found to organize her shoes and because they are so small you can fit both shoes in one holder (other than boots).

Her dresser is a dresser/changing combo that is from her nursery and another Craigslist find when we were in Dallas.  This little baby was only $40 and already painted white so I just gave it a quick new coat to freshen up the color.  On top of the changing table is a basket I used to hold all her lotion, q-tips, sunscreen, etc and still do.  We keep wet-wipes in here on days she doesn't have to take a bath.  The little white jar is from Ross and holds her ponytail holders.

In case you were wondering how I organize what's in the dresser, here's a quick run-down:
  • Top drawer: PJ's and a small plastic shoe box (without the lid) for socks
  • Middle drawer: jeans and pants and another shoe box for non-dance tights and panty covers
  • Bottom drawer (which is broken and won't close all the way): Blankets, extra sheets/pillowcases
  • Small drawer: Underwear, left over pull-ups (clean obviously), and a small plastic drawer pencil holder that holds her nail clippers, baby brush and a random roll on Little Mermaid perfume from her Lola
  • Cabinet has 2 shelves: Top has CD's and a basket for hats; Bottom has a basket that holds extra supplies for the diaper bag which we don't use anymore.
Small Drawer above cabinet (Hippos are hiding the unmentionables)

Top Drawer
Middle Drawer
Bottom Drawer
I hang all of her dresses, coats, shirts, tanks, swimsuits, skirts, shorts (other than cotton play ones), and dance clothes (all in that order).  I organize them by color as well so it makes it so much easier to pick out outfits.

I also put her bookshelf in her closet because we needed more floor space in her room and the bookshelf fit.  The actual bookshelf I got from a discount store in Dallas for her nursery also.  We keep her CD player/radio in here because the light from the clock display is extremely bright so in here it stays unplugged and out of the way.

Above her bookshelf I hammered in a single nail to hold her dance recital dress :)

I also keep her hamper in here as well.  This one was a steal at Hobby Lobby for like $5!  I was really excited at first because the lining is removable which means washable if you get things like pee or dirt on it (sorry to be gross but it was in a nursery).  However, after washing it like once twice a month (or as needed) over the last couple of years it has ripped along the seam in the bottom.  It's still totally functional though.

On the closet shelf is a hand made shelf from a desk my friend Holly gave me years ago and it fits perfect to hold miscellaneous things like her Halloween and Easter baskets, felt Christmas tree and backpack when not in use.  We also keep her luggage and train case in here which makes packing her things for trips much easier.

And how could I show you the last part of Bailey's room without showing the star of the show herself!  She was doing her "make-up" while I was taking pictures.

I hope you enjoyed this closet tour, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
