Guest Bath Reno Update + New Posting Schedule

Hello my friends!  I really do like starting out my posts like I am writing a letter to my dearest friends...because well you are my friends and I am sharing my life with you.  Ok enough with the sappiness and on with the update!  We last left off with the guest bath reno on days 6-8 where I was painting my life away...read more about that {here}.

Here are a few pictures to jog your memory from the beginning to where we ended last.

So as you can see we have totally transformed this room from gross and boring to bright and lovely!

Today, I'm sharing the last to do we have before the final reveal which will be up on Monday!  Yes, for sure it will be up on Monday November 10!  Anywho, the last thing we needed to do was to seal the grout.  After I bought the grout sealer (and did the first wall of shower tile), I started reading online about whether or not this was necessary.  Consensus says it's there was no definite answer.  It was back and forth whether people really felt the grout needed it or whether it was worth the effort.
Yes I said worth the effort because let me tell you it is HARD work!!!  You have to clean off the tile first and let them dry completely.  Then you take the grout sealer and brush it on.  As you can see from the picture of ours above it came with an attached brush for supposedly easier application...I wouldn't say it was easier at all because the bottle is not super easy to squeeze consistently.

One website even mentioned that so many tile installers will tell the home owners that they are saving them money by "letting" the home owner seal the grout themselves and some will even give a free bottle of grout sealer.  And it's because it is super tedious work!

Here is the grout "wet" with sealer.
Here is a comparison of the "wet" and "dry" grout.  The "dry" grout hasn't been touched by the sealer yet.
Once you have wet all the grout with the sealer, then you let it sit and penetrate the grout for a few minutes and then wipe it all off with water and a lint free cloth.  I didn't have a lint free cloth so I used a clean grout sponge.  Then you repeat this step 2-3 times.  Ugh...  I am not sure that I would even bother with grout that water isn't going to be on consistently like the floor or kitchen backsplash.
So needless to say, it's done and our grout is sealed and supposedly protected for an extra couple of years...
Now on to the new posting schedule.  So because we are so crazy busy these days, I am having a hard time sitting down to write posts and schedule things out because I want to tell and show y'all so much!  So I have decided that I am going to start posting on a schedule.  Every Monday and Thursday I will be uploading a new post unless something drastic happens.  I'm hoping this will help y'all be able to follow along with us easier as well as keep me a little more sane.  So with that I will see y'all on Monday with the final Guest Bathroom Reveal and Source list!!

I hope y'all enjoyed this update, and as always, thanks for stopping by!
